About Us

Our History

Founded in 1999 following consultations among its founders, RIDEV is an apolitical, non-profit organization legalized in 2002 in Bafoussam. Its first office opened in 2006, followed by a branch in Maroua in 2014, and the inauguration of its headquarters in Yaoundé in 2017. Guided by a vision to promote human dignity, RIDEV is committed to sustainable development while respecting fundamental rights. Upholding its values of integrity, professionalism, and proximity, RIDEV capitalizes on its strong local expertise to support governmental and international projects addressing local challenges.

What We Do

RIDEV operates in four strategic areas to meet the needs of communities:

Local Development : We improve governance, support decentralization, and evaluate strategies for economic, social, and municipal development.

Social Communication : Our initiatives include behavior change communication, development communication, and digital communication to mobilize communities.

Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) : We design tailored strategies, support stakeholders, and provide victim-centered care.

Fragility, Conflict, and Violence (FCV) : We enhance resilience and promote peace by mitigating the impacts of conflict and climate change.

We build sustainable solutions to serve communities.

Who We Serve

RIDEV focuses on strategic actions aimed at improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations, particularly women, young girls, and boys. We operate in four key areas: local development, social communication, prevention and response to Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and addressing Fragility, Conflict, and Violence (FCV). Through sustainable projects, we strengthen local governance, mobilize communities through communication, and support victims of violence. RIDEV is committed to building resilient and inclusive communities ready to face today’s challenges.
